See Who’s Knocking Anywhere, Anytime from a Smartphone with Yale’s Connected Digital Door Viewer

See who’s at the door.

LAS VEGAS, April 6, 2016Yale Locks & Hardware is at ISC West showcasing the Yale Real Living™ Look Door Viewer™ a new digital peephole that allows homeowners to see who’s at the door on a built-in LCD monitor or on their smartphone. Yale is showcasing the product this week at ISC West in the ASSA ABLOY booth, #8601.

The new Look Door Viewer replaces a standard peephole with a 4.3-inch LCD monitor and WiFi connectivity, allowing for live, two-way video communication with a smartphone and companion app. Once motion is detected in front of the door, or when the Look Door Viewer’s doorbell button is pushed, a notification is sent to the homeowner’s smartphone. From there, the user will either see a still photo or live video, depending on preferences chosen within the app. Live video will also be displayed on the monitor so that homeowners can quickly see who’s at the door without opening the app. In addition, a motion sensor can be set to automatically snap a photo when someone comes within close range of the outside of the door.

The free app is compatible with devices running iOS7 or later and Android 4.2 or later. The app offers push to talk audio and live video, and allows visitor photos to be retrieved from cloud storage. Photos and videos are stored with date and timestamps on the viewer and within the app.

A Z-Wave version of the Look Door Viewer allows homeowners with a Z-Wave home automation system to receive alerts through the system’s app from wherever they are. These alerts can include low battery warning, tamper alarm, doorbell, and motion detection. A unique feature available when integrating Look Door Viewer into a Z-Wave system is the ability to design dynamic scenes that trigger actions of multiple connected products. For example, a homeowner could have their outdoor porch light turn on when the Look Door Viewer detects motion or when the doorbell is pushed.

The digital door viewer is powered by four AA batteries and features weather-resistant construction to withstand outdoor conditions.

The new Yale Real Living Look Door Viewer will be available for $179.99 for the WiFi only version and $199.99 for WiFi and Z-Wave version.
