The Assure Lever to Join the Yale Lock Family This Spring

Today, we announced the Assure Lever, so your interior rooms and non-deadbolt entry doors can be just as secure and simple as deadbolt doors. This Spring, we’re bringing easy-to-use, sleek security to your home office, wine cellar, recording studio, side entry or garage entry. Available in keypad and touchscreen versions, this model features a key-free Academy Lever, with a transitional curved look to match the curve of the keypad. It will also be available with the Connected by August upgrade kit, which means you can power the lock with August Smart Lock capabilities—including Auto Unlock, voice integrations and more.

The durable acrylic keypad has backlit numbers that won’t wear off, and a battery back-up charger means you can still feel secure (and get into your home) even if the batteries die. Forget carrying around keys with the key-free Assure Lever; you can now unlock your home using a 4-8 digit entry code on the backlit keypad. The Assure Lever lets you create up to 25 (or 250 with a Yale Smart Module) entry codes to share with friends and family, so you'll never have worry about annoying handoffs or copied keys.

We now have five different Assure models plus the Nest x Yale Lock for you to choose from, all suited for your home security needs. Whether you prefer a touchscreen, need a lock for a door with one hole or two, or want the flexibility of using physical keys, there’s a Yale Lock for you. You can also select the perfect Yale Smart Module for your lock, including Z-Wave Plus, Connected by August, Zigbee, Amazon Key, Control4 or Crestron. The Connected by August Kit gives your Assure Lock or Lever Bluetooth so that it can unlock as you approach it with your phone, as well as react to voice assistants (Amazon Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant). Check out the others below and see which is best for your family!

For doors that don’t have a deadbolt (one hole + one piece of hardware):

  • YRL236 Assure Lever Keypad: The acrylic keypad models are best if you live in climates where you’re wearing gloves for part or most of the year. They can also be easier to see if your door is in direct sunlight.

  • YRL256 Assure Lever Touchscreen: This sleek lever lock replaces your existing knob or lever with a convenient touchscreen that illuminates with a swipe of your hand.

The Yale Assure Lever will be available on, and with other major retailers this Spring 2019. Sign up for emails to get notified when it’s shipping.
